Insects are fascinating, they appeal to my sense of detail, especially if they are made of noble metals and encrusted with precious stones. These can land on me anytime. The inspiration for these miniature paintings was taken from vintage and antique jewelry. The above is an antique piece of jewelry from the Victorian era. Emeralds, rubies and diamonds adorn this delicate 18kt gold dragonfly. Below is a vintage sparkling bee. Diamond encrusted wings, ruby eyes and a sapphire body.
